I'm still in awe that the incredible bringing this story to life, and that soon I'll get to hold the book of my heart in my hands. Anna Kopp tweeted out Anna Kopp & Gabrielle Kari's The Marble Queen OGN Sold To Dark Horse 1 of 3 ‘A Diehard Foolish Person’ Patil used her past life in advertising to shape the protagonist of Kari, a disaffected copywriter in a fraught relationship with another woman. One of the first queer leads in Indian literature and a first in the world of Indian graphic novels Kari is significant because she saw the light of day exactly a decade ago, at a time when smartphones weren’t ubiquitous and the gender dialogue hadn’t progressed as much as it has today. She has now sold her new graphic novel The Marble Queen, drawn by Gabrielle Kari, to Brett Israel at Dark Horse. The graphic novel Kari by Amruta Patil is a contemporary tale about a queer woman living in a place called Smog City. Anna Kopp is best known as the creator of unofficial Minecraft graphic novels, such as the Smasher And Waffles series. ![]()
